The
school for Thalassaemics, a brainchild of Dr. Yasmin Raashid was started
on the 17th of August 2001 keeping in mind the dire need for
education in the present day. The school was established with the motive
of building up the child morale, throwing light on the importance and
value of life and to improve knowledge of the latest education style.
The school enjoys voluntary services of numerous interior decorators,
physical trainers, and calligraphers. The school operates for 7 hours a
day with at least 25 to 30 children attending the classes who come to
receive treatment at the Thalassaemia Centre. A teacher deputed for each
class (from nursery to class 10th) takes a review test at an
interval of three months. Special care is taken to provide a daily games
period and a lunch break for the recreation and refreshment of children.
The school also organizes an annual sports day and a number of other
activities. The school operates with much zeal to raise children who
will serve our society with their expertise and talent in spite of
carrying a lifelong disease. |
